WELCOME!

This is an ongoing US and global project to help enthusiasts, scholars, practitioners, and curious parties learn more about shamanic living in a contemporary culture. The space here is devoted to sharing info, experiences and opinions about all forms of shamanic expression covering shamanism's multiple permutations. Among subjects explored are traditions, techniques, insights, definitions, events, artists, authors, and creativity. You are invited to draw from your own experiences and contribute.

What is a SHAMAN?

MAYAN: "a technichian of the Holy, a lover of the Sacred." CELTIC: "Empower the people...by changing the way we think." MEXICAN APACHE: "Someone who has simply learned to give freely of themselves..." AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL: "...a teacher or healer, a wisdom keeper of knowledge... (who) takes people to a door and encourages them to enter." W. AFRICAN DIAGRA: "views every event in life within a spiritual context." HAWAIIAN: "...human bridges to the spiritual world and its laws and the material world and its trials..." QUECHUA INDIAN: "embodies all experience." AMAZON: "...willing to engage the forces of the Universe...in a beneficial end for self, people, and for life in general."

Welcome Apprentices!

Hello to all the new apprentices...this is our blog space! So, by now you have found your way in, and probably had to get a password...hopefully it was not too big of a challenge...but you know, initiations abound. So, this is our "professional site" where we want to list shamanic happenings (in the world and in OUR worlds), strange things that go bleep in the night, ideas about books, questions, experiences using your cards, journeys, all that. I will start a few threads here in the next day or so. Be sure to check back here at LEAST once a week (I think you can be notified about postings, but I'm not sure how--anyone else know?) as this is our community service. We want to give back to the Spirits, and the world, and this is one way. Hugs to you! Robin

Hi everybody!
I am in too. Still need to go back to the list to check a few names(I mean, who is behind each shamanic name!). A bit overwhelmed by work and other issues these days and not sure yet of the exact statute of the pain in my head (I thought that it was gone but it is back), pushed by the spirits who seem to be willing to erase many things of my past life, pushing me further and faster than I wanted so I am giving them some boundaries... I will share more soon, in a clearer and more articulated way, I promise! Meanwhile, be well everybody; on my side, I keep allowing the light!!! Love from France, B & ATL
